A young Worcester archer has impressed on the European stage, finishing second in the under 21's category despite being amongst the youngest in her age category.
Emelia Hughes, 18, finished as the runner-up at the European Youth Cup in Sofia, Bulgaria, narrowly missing out on the top step.
Hughes, a former Royal Grammar School student, was selected for the competition in January, shooting at the longer distance of 70 metres.

Hughes started archery in 2017, honing her skills initially with the Droitwich Archers before ascending to Archery GB's Pathway Academy.
In her brief career, she has won numerous national titles in her age group and represented Great Britain on four occasions at the under-18 level.
Hughes, who outside of archery is an engineering apprentice at Yamazaki Mazak, not only had to compete at the longer distance, but also had to deal with severe weather fluctuations as temperatures fluctuated from 31 degrees to 10 degrees.
After finishing second, Hughes is now looking ahead to her next international event in Slovenia next month, followed by the European Youth Championships in Romania in July.
Hughes said: "Archery really is a sport for all, and with several local clubs in the County, why not pop along to one of their open days or beginner courses and give it a go."
